Cool article! I havent quite unpacked everything you are saying but there are a couple things I can't shake. The idea here is that reorganization is a form of subversion intrinsic to a qualitative judgement/definition of art as good or worth its salt. But there seems to be the idea here that the artist role is to put back together something that has been broken and to heal contemporary traumas. I feel like “mere imitation” is actually a very challenging position (I am not sure what types of imitative art work are being referred to or what imitative might mean exactly). In some ways acting as a witness or as a mirror is necessary and generative for revelation. Agency in hegemonic paradigms might not be possible in classic directive means. Afterall, emotional impact requires a space of listening and attention. Just some of my thoughts. Thank you for sharing!
